Custom Specialty Cakes for Every Occasion

Our Specialty Cakes collection covers the designs that fall outside the usual categories, like themed, sculpted, or entirely custom pieces built around your idea. Each one starts as a conversation and ends as a cake made just for your event.

Why Choose Our Specialty Cakes Collection?

  • Truly Custom Design: From themed birthday cakes to corporate logos, our decorators translate your idea into an edible design, not a template.
  • Decades of Versatility: Thirty years of custom baking means there's very little we haven't attempted, from novelty shapes to elaborate multi-tier builds.
  • One-on-One Planning: Every specialty order is discussed by appointment, so details like flavor, shape, and finish are worked out together before we begin.

For Milestones, Themes, and One-of-a-Kind Requests

Specialty cakes are a favorite for milestone birthdays, retirements, and events with a specific theme that a standard cake just can't capture.

Questions About Specialty Cakes

What are Iris Lee specialty cakes?

Our most inventive designs: number cakes, custom photo cakes, heart cakes, themed cakes and seasonal showpieces. They are the cakes people ask about at the party.

How many people does a number cake serve?

Number cakes are cut to the shape of your number. A standard single digit number cake serves 15 to 20 as a dessert style slice, and our 8 inch round specialty cakes serve 14 to 20.

Can you put a photo or name on a cake?

Yes. Send the photo or wording with your order and our team will call to confirm the design before we start.

How long does a specialty cake take?

Every cake is baked to order in our Chestnut Hill kitchen, so please allow 1 to 3 days. For a busy weekend or a holiday, calling a week ahead gives you the best choice of dates.

Do you deliver specialty cakes?

Our cakes are made for local Boston area delivery, and pickup at our Chestnut Hill studio is available by appointment. Call (617) 731-9800 and we will confirm your address and delivery date.
